when it works, it’s great

Ordered 2 of these humidifiers because I already have 2 and wanted to add the new ones in the house. I rec’d them quickly from one of Amazon’s vendors. However, one of the humidifiers was defective (the knob wouldn’t turn more than 1/4 of the way, so no mist!!). I emailed the vendor & he gave me a hard time about returning for a replacement. Finally after a week of emails and telling him I filed a complaint to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, he agreed to replace it. Despite all that, I recommend these humidifiers for home or work. I use one at work all day & one in my bedroom at night – love them! Very quiet humidifiers!!! My breathing is better, the air is cool & refreshing. I add fresh cold water every morning. Just keep them clean – wash them once a week with a little bleach & hot water to keep any mold in check. I also add a couple drops of Sweet Orange aromatherapy in the tank (doesn’t clog) & it scents my cubicle at work, and my bedroom at night. Highly recommended.

Dangerous defect….

I bought this unit for my office, and for about a month it worked quite well. Then, just today (1/20/11)this unit stopped working. The unit ran out of water and the automatic shut off powered the unit down. I refilled the tank and placed it back on the unit. The power light came on and I could hear a very faint whir (as normal), but no mist came out. I made sure the unit was turned to “max” and still no mist. I decided to let it run this way for a little while in case it needed to “draw” the water up from the tank before the mist was visible. I ran it that way for about 30 minutes. During that time, I left my office and returned to find an odor of burning plastic. I touched the unit and it was VERY hot–so much so that the water in the tank felt like hot bathwater (I started out with cold water). I immediately unplugged the unit and requested a refund. Had this been left unattended I hate to think of what could have happened. This is a shame, because other than this MAJOR issue, the unit worked as advertised. Buyer beware–not worth the risk in my opinion.

Excellent Resultf for my Dry Office

I work in a large closed window office in NYC. The office is dry all winter and my sinuses get all dried out. I tried this one and it works like a charm. Then I saw Natural Air Man also had a bedside humidifer that is also a air purifier/ionizer. So I’m order that now..
