Mexicans and southwestern Native American nations have applied jojoba oil traditionally for centuries to promote hair growth and the control of dandruff. I haven’t used anything else since December and didn’t plan to. I recently made it to our local Sally Beauty Supply for the first time and ran into Hair One. I didn’t buy it at that moment but came home and did some checking on the web about the product. I saw that it got great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I bought two single-use packets at Sally and used one for the first time this morning. WOW! My hair looks like it does after using my Wen but as I styled it as usual, I noticed it was softer and shinier than wheh I cleanse with Wen (I didn’t think that was possible). I am going to use the second packet in 4-5 days (that is the same routine I have with Wen) and see if my results are just as wonderful. If you’re on the fence or are a devoted Wen user but cringe at the price, please give this a try. It’s worth it!

I learned about Hair One while reading reviews and blogs online about Wen. Wen is VERY expensive compared to Hair One and by all accounts Hair One was equally as good. Well, I haven’t tried Wen but, i love Hair One. I am African American with medium textured, just below the shoulder length hair (not really course, i perm maybe once every 3-4 months). I’ve noticed as I approach 40 my hair is getting drier and not as soft as it used to be. I noticed a difference in texture after the first wash. My hair was soft and held the curl perfectly. I used Nuetrogena clarifying wash first then applied Hair One exactly as directed, combing out from root to ends while in the shower. I didn’t use any as a leave-in conditioner. Other comments suggest using a clarifying shampoo at least once a month while ‘co-washing’ and so do I. The only other product i use on my hair is Ojon Restorative Treatment. I’m ready to TRASH every other shampoo and conditioner i have today! Can you imagine? What a money saver! Give it a try ladies!!

Makes My Hair Hair Have A TON of Volume!
By Wendy R. Ackerman
This product ROCKS! Never in my LIFE have I had such a LOVE AFFAIR with a product! It makes my short strait hair have CRAZY Volume! I can run my hands through my hair without a ton of product. I have used Aveda products forever and have tried others that seem to under perform. Ojon shampoo and conditioner was my last fumble. I can say with out a doubt that this stuff works! After my 1st use I was SOLD! I can’t believe the price compared to WEN. You get a 12 oz bottle for less than the price of a 6oz bottle of WEN, with the same results! Gotta LOVE that! If your a skeptic, like me, the proof is in the puddin’. Go to Sally’s beauty supply and you can buy a trial pack ($1.29 or less) and try it! You’ll be STOKED with the results!

Asthma is a severe and potentially fatal disease caused by inflammation in the airways. When an asthma attack occurs, the bronchial airways become tight and the lining of the air passages swell. This reduces the amount of air that may pass by, and may be accompanied by tightness in the chest, coughing, or wheezing. Asthma attacks may last from minutes to days. An attack may become dangerous if the airflow becomes too badly restricted.

Most asthma attacks are triggered by breathing in allergy-causing substances such as: pet dander, dust mites, cockroach allergens, molds, or pollens. Asthma sensations or changes may likewise be triggered by respiratory infections, exercise, cold air, tobacco smoke and other pollutants, stress, and feed or drug allergies.

Some vitamins and herbs are thought to be helpful in preventing or bettering asthma. Herbs, and other healing food, considered useful, include: angelica, anise, apple, blackberry, borage, caraway, carrot, cayenne, cocoa, coffee, dandelion, echinacea, eucalyptus, fenugreek, fish, garlic, ginger, ginkgo, grapefruit, green tea, horseradish, hyssop, juniper, lovage, marjoram, mustard, mullein, nuts, olive, onions, rosemary, slippery elm, stinging nettle, sunflower, tea, thyme, turmeric, walnut, watercress, and yogurt.

Vitamins (or foods rich in the vitamins) that may be useful, include: B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyrodoxine), B complex, beta-carotene, C, calcium and magnesium, E, omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, and zinc.

Avoid the mutual triggers for asthma, such as: aspirin, sugar, soy, tobacco smoke, and all feed additives, coloring, and preservatives. Also, limit dairy foods and salt in the diet. Fear and stress also seem to worsen asthma.

Consume lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Maintain a healthful weight. Try to drink at least 8-12 cups water daily. Caffeine appears to lessen asthma attacks. It is likewise said that tabasco sauce, after a meal, will lessen asthma attacks.

Fact: There is no sure-fire way to prevent all hair loss. However, a great deal of methods that have been used work on a great deal of people. Here are a good deal of suggestions for natural remedies to hair loss. Massage Massaging the scalp in popular for a couple of minutes a day may stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in mild cases stimulate a great deal of hair growth in minor cases of temporary hair loss. There are assorted electric massagers on the market that have an attachment for scalp massaging as well. An oriental method called Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) has been applied to increase circulation to the scalp and face also. Saw Palmetto Extract There is a definitive connection among the prostate and hair loss for men. Saw Palmetto has been found to work in fighting benign prostatic disease by letting down levels of DHT, which is a known cause of androgenetic alopecia. Saw Palmetto extract is an effective anti-androgen and shows promise as an effective treatment for hair loss prevention. More data on Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Women on oral contraceptives or hormone therapy will have to not take Saw Palmetto. Nettle Root Extract Nettles are rich in vitamins A and C, various key solid homogeneous inorgani substances and lipids that may be beneficial to the hair. Rosemary and Sage Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown gain traditionally when used externally. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair daily. Jojoba Oil If you are disposed to seborrhea, eczema, psoriasis, or dandruff, you could consider using jojoba oil. Mexicans and southwestern Native American nations have used jojoba oil traditionally for centuries to publicize hair growth and the control of dandruff. Jojoba oil is great for hypoallergenic skin because it is a outstanding moisturizer and mimics the scalp’s own sebum. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera has been applied by Native Americans, Indians and a great deal of in the Caribbean to promote healthful hair and prevent hair loss. Aloe’s may support the scalp by healing it and balancing the pH level of the scalp while cleansing the pores. A mutual preparation of Aloe Vera gel with a little amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is employed as a shampoo and has traditionally shown great benefit. Polysorbate-80 is being commended by some naturopathic practitioners as an application for the scalp approximately 15 minutes prior to shampooing. Cleansing and Detoxification Cleansing will have to be a major percentage of your regimen to maintain and grow hair. Many scalp related diseases are directly the result of toxemia, while toxins in the body adversely affecting the body’s schemes indirectly affect other conditions. Cleansing may be performed through oral means steadily and occasionally by enema or colonic irrigation. More remedies for detoxification Psyllium husk Fiber is critical to cleansing, and most North American diets are deficient in natural fiber. Psyllium husk is a bulking laxative agent that may be used to safely move waste through the colon. Psyllium is a very good substance as it gently scrubs the walls of the colon to remove waste that is stuck to the walls.

Exercise Finally, even though exercise does perfectly not one thing directly to grow hair, most holistic practitioners commend it. Exercising may improve blood flow, the deliverance of oxygen to the cells of the body, and support the digestion of foods, all things that aid the health of hair follicles. I first tried the 16 Oz Sweet Almond Mint and loved it! I have longer medium thickness hair that is curly when air dried. I noticed a dramatic reduction in hair loss (hair in shower, on my brush, etc). Also, my hair was really soft and shiny. If I were to rate the Sweet Almond Mint it would be 5-stars, hands down.

I went to order the 32 Oz and at the time Amazon didn’t have Sweet Almond Mint in that size in stock, so I ended up ordering the Lavender. You would think that the scent shouldn’t make much a difference in the actual results of the product but it does in this case. I have noticed my hair is more brittle, dry, and I lose more hair on this compared to the Sweet Almond Mint. I’ve learned my lesson and will now just stick to Sweet Almond Mint. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the different scents do have different effects.

Maddox
I have been using Wen for 6 months now, first time I tried it I was very impressed, since than, I read an article that we should not use shampoos to wash hair, and use only conditioners, I tried wahsing my hair with a conditioner only and I had exactly the same result washing my hair with the Wen shampoo. I think that Wen is just a conditioner, a good one, however, a very overpriced one. Right now, I switch between the Wen and the conditioner (one that is very inexpensive), I have to think if I realy want to pay so much money for Wen when a conditioner ($4 conditioner from WalMart) has the same effect. I have thin hair, I have been using the most expensive products on my hair for my whole life, so it is not that much about the price as it is about the effectiveness of Wen in doing anything different for my hair than a cheaper product.

Matasavage
I have been using the Wen cleansing-conditioners for over a year now. I have fine wavy hair that is color-treated. I find that this product is all that it is advertised to be. It is gentle, keeps my hair hydrated and I only now need to wash my hair twice a week. You do need to rinse throughly to avoid residual product left in your hair, but my hair has never been in such good shape. I also appreciate not having to do a two-step process every time I shampoo (shampoo and condition). The product is relatively expensive, and you do need to use quite a bit to get the desired results, but I feel that it is worth the price for me.

Is Wild Harvesting or Wild Crafting (the gathering of wild plants, vines, trees, and non-forest merchandise for use or sale) an ethical method of making profits from Nature?

Wild Crafting and Harvesting for net profit has been going on since the beginning of the humane race, and was one of the cornerstones on the founding of the United States. Remember history and the forest commodities and plants that the Native American’s exposed us to?

Hungry for food, medicine, and cash a lot of generations of Americans have tapped the natural storehouses of the woods and waters.

During economic recessions and depressions that we have lived through, some families and humans pulled through from what they could harvest and trade or eat from the wild. Families for the duration of the depression dug May apples and sold the roots. This earned them $1.50 per day on good days, keeping the land lord away for one more day.

Hundred’s of plants per day were dug, and no thought was given to leaving seed stock for the next year’s crop. Nature had always provided and there was no concern for conservation.

Thankfully, complex mental states have changed and what was worthy of acceptance or satisfactory then is not for today.

Although, laws and regulatings have been enacted to protect and limit over harvesting of a lot of medicinal and edible plants and roots, some persons still make cash with this action and this causes a heated debate over whether it is ethical to proceed this profession and tradition.

This debate raises these questions:

* Is Wild Crafting an ethical method of making cash and earning a living in today’s economy?

* Can regulatings and quotas work in this profession?

Ethic’s is specified as:

a set of moral principles or values; a theory or scheme of moral values; the principles of conduct governing an person or a group.

Years past, the attitude of most harvesters was if they didn’t harvest all that they came upon, then someone coming behind them would harvest the remains, so they might just as well take it all. Nature always provided so why ought to they regulate themselves with limits.

The affect that wild harvesting and gathering has had on the ecosystem is noteworthy in the laws that have been enacted to regulate size, seasons, and quantities for a heap of forest and plant products.

The most noted example is the American Ginseng.

A strong overseas market for this root, has resulted in more and more humans seeking this slow growing root crop. Over harvesting threatened this plant’s remotion from galore of it is natural habitats.

In this case regulation and harvest limits helped, but not completely as envisioned. It was the education of the harvester and fostering of personal values and responsibilities toward sustainable wildcrafting and harvesting.

Does ethics enter into this debate?

Yes.

With education on harvesting and it is affect on the ecosystem, and the strong personal value scheme toward responsible limits, wild harvesting or crafting will stay a profitable and ongoing action supplying much necessitated medicine, food, and non forest productions for galore generations to come.
